personality: may-beth is a very introverted person. she focuses on herself before others a lot of the time and is very reserved and usually tries to avoid conversations because of her genuinely awful social skills. she knows a lot of shit about a lot of people because of her observance and calculative personality. if you hurt her or her friends she will not hesitate to knock you the fuck out using these secrets she knows about you. she likes to think all the things she does are for the greater good of not only herself, but also the people she cares about. she is deathly loyal to those she befriends. the problem is it's really difficult to befriend her in the first place. may-beth cares a lot about people close to her.

history: may-beth was born a healthy child in a far away pokemon village by the name of kino. she was raised by a supportive family who cared deeply about her, to a sort of extreme extent- at some point they stopped letting her go outside. this cut her off from her friends and the possibility of exploration. thus she began to read books to pass the time. slowly may-beth began to disconnect from the people she had once cared about. by the time she was 7 she was an introvert in all aspects of the word- quiet, reserved, overly-observant, unable to conjure healthy friendships or familial relationships.

then when she was 8 her little sister peony was born and suddenly something changed within may-beth. she jumped at any and every opportunity to hold her baby sister or feed her or play with her. by the time peony was 5 the two of them were best friends. however, may-beth still refused to make friends with anyone else, but her parents tried their best to be content with what they could get. at least may-beth had a friend. that was the most important thing.

but a week after peony's 8th birthday (her birthday is july 6th but that's unimportant) a fire lit on a tree outside of the stimsons' house due to the heat and the flames spread to the home. it took hours to put out the fire. may-beth and her parents libby and pablo survived but peony did not.

the family was completely stricken with grief and may-beth retreated back into her shell and over the course of a few years moved out of her family's new house in kino, hardly over peony's death. then she found ivywood and decided to move in. she was given her lunatone and instantly developed a bond with it. she gave it the name anomaly because she found its gender identity interesting- she had no idea pokemon could make such decisions for themselves- but she accepted it with open arms. now she lives in ivywood as a historian. every morning lunatone grabs a pink, blue, or grey ribbon from may-beth's closet to identify their current pronouns.
